Take on the world’s longest staircase: the legendary Niesen stairs near Spiez, with 11,674 steps leading all the way up the mountain.
The Niesenlauf will take place on Sunday, 30 August.
The goal is simple: make it to the top before the first train arrives.
We will have two starting groups:
Early group: starts at 04:00
Later group: starts at 05:00
Sporty participants can usually make it to the top in under two hours. Those who prefer to take it a little easier should plan around three hours.
Cost: CHF 89
This includes the reservation for the stair hike and a generous brunch at the top of the mountain.
Registration deadline: 15 August
We recommend booking a hotel nearby the night before, so you do not have to get up in the middle of the night and drive to Niesen.
